Hot Rolled DIN 1.4845 SUS 310S Stainless Steel Plate – High Temperature Oxidation Resistance up to 1100°C

High Temperature Resistant Hot Rolled DIN 1.4845 SUS 310S Stainless Steel Plate Now Available

We are pleased to offer our premium Hot Rolled DIN 1.4845 SUS 310S (AISI 310S / UNS S31008) Stainless Steel Plate at 12 × 1500 mm specification, with a full range of customizable dimensions. Engineered for extreme high temperature environments, this austenitic grade delivers exceptional oxidation resistance and structural integrity in the most demanding industrial applications.

Superior High Temperature Performance

Alloy 310 (UNS S31000) is an austenitic stainless steel specifically developed for high temperature corrosion resistant service. The alloy resists oxidation up to 2010°F (1100°C) under mildly cyclic conditions, making it an industry-standard choice for furnace components, thermal processing equipment, and power generation systems.

With its high chromium content of 25% and moderate nickel content, Alloy 310 demonstrates outstanding resistance to sulfidation and performs reliably in moderately carburizing atmospheres. For more severe carburizing environments, higher nickel alloys such as 330 (UNS N08330) are recommended; however, 310 remains widely specified for slightly oxidizing, nitriding, cementing, and thermal cycling applications.

Grade Variants: 310S, 310, and 310H

GradeUNS DesignationKey Feature
310SS31008Low carbon version (max 0.08% C) — optimized for ease of fabrication and welding
310S31000Standard grade (max 0.25% C) — general high temperature service
310HS31009High carbon modification (0.04–0.10% C) — enhanced creep resistance for extended high-temperature exposure

In most instances, the grain size and carbon content of our plate can meet both 310S and 310H requirements, providing maximum flexibility for your application.

High Temperature Corrosion Resistance

The high chromium (25%) and silicon content make Alloy 310 more resistant to high temperature corrosion than most heat resistant stainless steels. Operating temperature guidelines are as follows:

  • Oxidizing Conditions (sulfur ≤ 2 g/m³): 1050°C continuous, 1100°C peak
  • High Sulfur (sulfur > 2 g/m³): 950°C maximum
  • Low Oxygen Atmosphere (sulfur ≤ 2 g/m³): 1000°C maximum
  • Nitriding or Carburizing Atmospheres: 850 – 950°C maximum

Note: The alloy does not match Alloy 600 or Alloy 800 in reducing, nitriding or carburizing atmospheres, but outperforms most heat resistant stainless steels in these conditions.

Key Industrial Applications

  • Cryogenic Components: Low magnetic permeability and toughness down to -450°F (-268°C)
  • Food Processing Equipment: Hygienic surfaces with excellent corrosion resistance
  • Industrial Furnaces: Burners, doors, fans, piping, and recuperators
  • Fluidized Bed Furnaces: Coal combustors, grids, piping, and wind boxes
  • Steel Plants & Ore Processing: Smelter equipment, continuous casting components
  • Petroleum Refining: Catalytic recovery systems, flares, recuperators, tube hangers
  • Power Generation: Coal gasifier internals, pulverized coal burners, tube hangers
  • Sintering & Cement Plants: Burners, burner shields, feeding and discharging systems
  • Thermal Processing: Annealing covers and boxes, burner grids, muffles, retorts, walking beams

Fabrication & Welding

Alloy 310 can be easily welded and processed by standard shop fabrication practices including TIG, PLASMA, MIG, SMAW, SAW, and FCAW. For hot forming, heat uniformly at 950 – 1200°C followed by a final anneal at 1000 – 1150°C with rapid quenching. The alloy is quite ductile and forms similarly to 316 stainless steel.

Standards & Certifications

Our 310S stainless steel plates conform to international standards including ASTM A240, ASME SA240, and AMS 5521. Comprehensive inventory available across 304/304L/304H, 316L/316/316H, 309S/309H, 310S/310H, 317L, 321H, 347H, 410, 410S, 17-4PH, SSC-6MO, 904L, duplex stainless steel, cobalt-restricted stainless steel, and nickel alloy plates.
