Galvalume (also called Aluzinc or aluminum-zinc coated steel) is a hot-dip coated steel sheet whose coating is composed of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon. This alloy coating combines the barrier protection of aluminum with the sacrificial (galvanic) protection of zinc, delivering 2-6 times the corrosion resistance of ordinary hot-dip galvanized steel at the same coating weight.
