ASTM A240 TP309S is a high-chromium, high-nickel austenitic stainless steel specifically designed for elevated temperature applications. With approximately 22-24% chromium and 12-15% nickel content, TP309S offers exceptional oxidation resistance and maintains structural integrity at temperatures up to 1100°C intermittently and 1000°C in continuous service. The low carbon content (max 0.08%) minimizes carbide precipitation during welding and thermal cycling.

309S has slightly lower chromium (22-24%) compared to 310S (24-26%), offering a cost-effective solution for applications below 1000°C while maintaining excellent oxidation resistance.
309S performs well in oxidizing atmospheres. For sulfur-rich reducing environments, higher nickel grades like 310S or alloy 800 may be recommended.
Yes, every shipment includes a Mill Test Certificate showing chemical composition and mechanical properties. Third-party inspection by SGS/BV is also available.
Common sizes are available from stock within 3-5 days. Custom cutting and non-standard sizes take 7-15 working days after deposit confirmation.
